Woman hurt in Abra stabbing incident

VILLAVICIOSA, Abra  – A 34-year old woman was hurt after she was stabbed by his live in partner during a heated altercation inside their house at barangay Ap-apaya here Monday.

Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as  Annaliza Marikani, 34, single, while he named the suspect as Dennis Cantero Candido, 34, single, farmer, live- in partner of the victim and both residents of barangay Ap-apaya, Villaviciosa, Abra.

Initial police investigation showed the suspect went to fetch the victim in barangay Toquib where she had an alleged illicit affair with another man.

When at their residence, the suspect confronted the victim that subsequently resulted to a heated altercation forcing him to stab the victim with the use of a 12-inch bolo.

Concerned citizens immediately rushed the victim to the Abra Provincial Hospital for treatment of the stab wound on her back while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives that also resulted to the recovery of the deadly weapon used in the incident.
