TUBLAY, Benguet April 01 – The Tublay Municipal Government placed the municipality under extreme enhanced community quarantine from April 1-14, 2020 as part of the overall initiatives to prevent the further spread of the Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) in the town and to instill awareness among the residents on the importance of staying at home for the meantime.
Mayor Armando Lauro stated that among the stringent rules that will be implemented in the whole municipality is the imposition of a travel ban to all individuals except for medical services and emergencies going to hospitals, from 8 pm to 5 AM daily.
However, he disclosed that the window hours for all establishments to operate will be from 8 am to 3 pm only except for cooperatives, grocery and pharmacies which will be from 8 am to 5 pm only.
The local chief executive underscored that all establishments will be closed on Sundays to pave the way for people to remain in their residences pursuant to the guidelines issued by the inter-agency task force on the management of emerging and re-emerging diseases but the same will not apply for emergency medical and dialysis purposes.
Lauro asserted that during the declaration of the extreme enhanced community quarantine in the municipality in the next two weeks, there will be a 24-hour liquor ban to prevent people from loitering in the different establishments to drink liquor.
According to him, the municipal government will be implementing polices, rules and regulations similar to what is being implemented in the different municipalities in the province which was earlier agreed upon by concerned officials during a recent meeting with provincial officials.
Tublay is the passage route in going to the towns of Kapangan and Kibungan along the Acop-Kapangan-Kibungan-Bakun road and Atok, Bakun, Buguias and Mankayan along the Halsema highway.
Mayor Lauro appealed to the residents in the different barangays to cooperate with the implementation of the extreme enhanced community quarantine in the next two weeks because the same is aimed at ensuring their safety from the deadly virus and to prevent the same from spreading through community transmission.
He order the law enforcers manning the police checkpoints to ensure that the town’s borders will be sealed at the start of the prescribed curfew hours pursuant to the order on the extreme enhanced community quarantine to serve as a reminder for people to learn to comply with the stricter quarantine rules.
Lauro pointed out that people should not wait that there will be a confirmed COVID-19 case in the municipality before heeding the call of the local government and health authorities to stay at home when they have nothing to do outside their homes which will be their contribution in preventing the possible spread of the contagious virus.
He assured that the local government will be coming out with frequent announcements on the change of policies that will be dependent on whatever will be the issuances from the inter-agency task force where such orders emanate.
