TABUK CITY, Kalinga – The City Health Office (CHO), in coordination with the various rural health units, is presently conducting a simultaneous vaccination in barangays Dilag, Balawag, Suyang, Amlao, Bulanao Centro, Ipil, and Dagupan Centro in their respective vaccination sites.
Secretary Carlito Galvez of the National Task Force (NTF), has directed local governments to prioritize the use of the Janssen vaccines on senior citizens (A2) for its convenience, it being a single-dose vaccine and the sixth brand to get approval for use in the country.
Of the total number of doses, 7,700 were rolled out in the city but the CHO has included the A3 category (Persons with Comorbidities) for vaccination as the allotted vaccines was more than enough for the A2 category.
City Mayor Darwin C. Estrañero is thankful for the doses received by the city and he is encouraging all Tabukeños under categories A2 and A3 to take advantage of the availability of vaccines for their protection especially with the presence of the Delta variant in the country.
“Although the city records fewer COVID-19 infections for the last two months and has now transitioned to MGCQ, it is still a must to take precautions,” he added.
