TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Personnel from the City Risk Reduction and Management Office (CDRRMO), together with the Philippine National Police Tabuk City, responded to 8 vehicular accidents that claimed 5 lives and injured 3 others during the course of the Holy Week break in Tabuk City.
In their final report, they responded to a vehicular accident in Balong that killed a 27 year-old male named Alvin Domawang on April 14, this was followed by another vehicular mishap that injured 2 people identified as Rommel Garru, and Denmar Reco on April 15 in Brgy. Cabaruan.
Things turned more tragic on April 16, when 4 family members from Conner, Apayao were killed after their Starex van fell into a deep ravine in Gunogon, Bagumbayan on Black Saturday morning. As per the CDRRMO report, the victims were identified as church pastors Marcelo Sagyaman and his wife Marivic, their two children Marvin, 27, and Azrel, 12.
On the same day, another vehicular accident was recorded injuring a 15 year-old boy named Jay-ar Angalo from Cagayan when his motorcycle collided with a jeepney along provincial road in New Tanglag.
The CDRMMO then reiterates their reminders to all vehicle drivers, especially motorcycle riders to always be keen on observing traffic rules, exercise caution in driving, and staying safe at all times to avoid unnecessary injuries and even death.
Meanwhile, the CDRRMO also dispatched their Water Search and Rescue team to all Chico River tributary picnic sites to watch and monitor river goers during the Holy Week.
