TABUK CITY, Kalinga March 28 – The local government is enforcing the number coding scheme to bearers of home quarantine pass to ensure the strict adherence of the households to the ongoing implementation of the enhanced community quarantine in Luzon.
Mayor Darwin C. Estranero disclosed that personnel manning checkpoints in the different access roads leading to the city were advised to ensure that the home quarantine pass will only be used by the bearer of the same to purchase medicines, buy their basic needs from the market and grocery stores and to tend to their animals in their pasture lands and their farms.
Earlier, the local government issued home quarantine passes to a single member of the city’s households to serve as their pass in attending to the essential needs of their families during the implementation of the enhanced quarantine period.
Under the number coding scheme for households in the city, those that were issued home quarantine passes ending in 0 and 1 will only be allowed to go out of their houses and do the aforesaid activities on Mondays, those holding passes ending in 2 and 3 will be allowed to be out of their residences on Tuesdays, those who had been issued passes ending in 4 and 5 will be allowed to be out of their houses on Wednesdays, those that possess passes ending in 6 and 7 will be authorized to be out of their residences on Thursdays and those with passes ending in 8 and 9 will be allowed to be out of their houses on Fridays.
Estranero explained that on Saturdays, it should be devoted by the households to clean their surroundings while on Sundays, it will be a total lockdown in the whole city where no one is allowed to go out of their residences.
The local chief executive claimed that most of the households in the city have been cooperating with the prescribed precautionary measures against the dreaded Coronavirus Disease (COVID-19) since the implementation of the Luzon-wide enhanced community quarantine except for a few who had been arrested and given stern warnings that repeating their violations will mean their being imprisoned and charged accordingly.
According to him, the local government was able to issue some 26,000 home quarantine passes to a single member of the city’s households who reside in some 26,000 houses located in the 43 barangays of the city, thus, the prescribed schedule on when to go out to lessen the people that are out of their houses daily.
Tabuk city is a component city of Kalinga and one of the fastest developing local governments in the Cordillera and that I is also being eyed as the regional center of the region.
