TABUK CITY, Kalinga– Members of the Pag-asa Youth Association (PYA) from various clusters convened today for a one-day strategic planning session hosted by the City Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO).
The major goal of the activity, according to Leon Dangpason Jr., focal person for the Youth Development Program, is to teach PYA members alternative techniques to make their organization more functional in their specific area.
By achieving this, he claims that more young people from the 43 barangays will be encouraged to join and participate in various youth-related activities.
Rochelle Gayagay, Assistant Internal Auditor, gave a lecture on strategic planning and also taught the participants how to organize programs that address the various needs and concerns of youth members in their barangay.
Gayagay shared some ideas on how to find finances to implement a plan of action as a method to reawaken clusters that have become inactive due to a variety of factors.
According to the CSWDO’s statistics, there are 30 recognized PYA clusters, each with its own set of activities to complete, even in this time of pandemic.
City Mayor Darwin Estrañero appreciates the importance of the youth sector in the community and urges them to be engaged by carrying out their plans. He stated that he will support all youth-related initiatives as long as they have a positive impact.
