BONTOC, Mountain Province – Three hundred twenty four out of the 345 total number of PNP personnel in Mountain Province who were subjected to surprise drug testing by the Provincial and Regional Crime Laboratory tested negative, including the remaining 21 personnel who subjected themselves to drug test at the Regional Crime Laboratory.
Police Inspector Oscar B. Cayabas, Assistant Provincial Chief of the Mountain Province Crime Laboratory, who reported the result of the drug testing during the Provincial Management and Coordinating Committee Meeting held at the DILG Provincial Office on August 9, 2016, said that PNP in Mountain Province are law abiding enforcers
The personnel of the Bureau of Jail Management and Penology also tested negative during the random drug testing conducted in June by the same office.
In support of President Rodrigo Duterte’s call to curb the use of illegal drugs among uniformed personnel, the different uniformed personnel are being subjected to a surprise drug test.
In addition to the good status of the Mountain Province PNP relative to drugs, there were no complaints filed against the PNP and no violations committed by its personnel as per report of the PNP-Internal Affairs Service as of July 2016 to August 9, 2016.
Moreover, the Mountain Province Provincial Police Office personnel and DILG personnel, with the assistance of the BJMP, conducted a joint inspection of the Provincial District Jail. The surprise inspection or Oplan Galugad was conducted last July 25, 2016 which yielded negative.
DILG Provincial Director Anthony Manolo I. Ballug commended these accomplishments of the PNP and other uniformed agencies of the DILG and he has high hopes that the good performance of the PNP in the Province will be sustained.
