LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – Organizers of this year’s Strawberry Festival recently released the various winners in the different contests that were conducted during the month-long celebration that focused on the theme “A Colorful Panaspulan tan Pandadsahan,” and with a tagged name of “Valley of Colors,” various related activities and competitions were witnessed by the locals and the tourists.
Benguet State University (BSU) streetdacners who portrayed the province’s diversed culture was adjuged the champion in the streetdancing parade with a cash prize of P25,000 and the championship trophy, barangay Ambiong performers placed second with a cash prize of P20,000 while barangay Balili streetdancers landed third with a cash prize of P15,000.
In the mini-float competition, barangay Puguis emerged as the ran away winner with a cash prize of P35,000 followed by barangay Bineng with a cash prize of P25,000 while barangay Lubas float placed third with P20,000 cash prize.
On the other hand, Buyagan Elementary School was declared the was adjudged the champion in the Acoustic Band Competition
Photo Contest first place was Kathleen Tanding, Flower Arrangement Contest winner was Ralph Gaosen. And the Sweetest Strawberry fruit was from Michael Day-as and the biggest strawberry fruit was from Camilo Wayan.
The colorful gathering and merry-making ended with a classic tale of night that made the ambience of La Trinidad a place like you’ve never been before.
Mayor Edna C. Tabanda expressed her gratitude to all those who supported the successful conduct of the festival activities during the month-long celebration as she wished everyone the best of luck in the conduct of future crowd drawing events to be done by the local government had the stakeholders.
