Special child dies in Abra drowning incident

LA PAZ, Abra June 30 – An 8-year old special chid died after he allegedly drowned in a river near a children’s park when he was left unattended by his mother at Bulbulala, here, Tuesday.

Police authorities identified the fatality as Lance Albert Blanza, 8, a special child.

Initial police investigation showed the victim and his mother en to the children’s park in their place and played for a while after which the mother left her child unattended and went to a nearby store to buy something for them.

When she went back to the place where she left her child, she was surprised that her son was already missing that promoted her to inquire from other children in the area if they saw her child.

She was informed that her son went towards the river and then disappeared a few moments later that prompted her to seek assistance and after several hours, concerned residents found the victim’s lifeless body on the river bank.

The victim’s family rushed to subject his body to the necessary autopsy to ascertain the cause of his death.
