SN Aboitiz Power-Magat, Inc.’s (SNAP-Magat) unwavering assistance to public schools has received recognition from the Department of Education (DepEd) Schools Division of the province of Isabela.
The Gawad Ka-Brigada Award was personally presented to SNAP-Magat by Ramon Schools Division Supervisor Emily Tomas and three public school principals from the municipality of Ramon on February 15. The award recognized SNAP’s consistent support to Brigada Eskwela over the years. It likewise underscored the company’s commitment to the health and safety of the learners, teachers, and school personnel by providing medical aid at the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic last year.
In August 2020, SNAP-Magat distributed school supplies and medical aid packages consisting of paper and ink supplies as well as alcohol, bleach, and face masks to six host schools. This was in support of the host schools’ modular distance learning program to keep basic education accessible even with the COVID-19 crisis.
The awarding was done at the Magat dam crest, an open-air space overlooking the Magat reservoir in Brgy. Aguinaldo, Ramon, Isabela. Strict precautionary measures as mandated by the government and SNAP’s own company protocols were implemented.
SNAP-Magat has been a partner of the DepEd’s Brigada Eskwela program since 2008. Its annual participation in the program is an opportunity for employees and community members to volunteer in order for schools to have a clean, safe, and conducive learning environment.
