TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Law enforcers here recently seized an AK-47 rifle with serial no. 07184 with four magazines and live ammunition on September 18, 2020 at Barangay Balong, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
An AK-47 is an assault rifle, developed in the Soviet Union.
Also confiscated are six magazines for M16 rifle; three magazines for .30 Caliber; one magazine for Caliber 9mm pistol; one plastic case for Taurus pistol; and several live ammunition.
Reports from the Kalinga Provincial Office say that the operation is the result of a search warrant against a certain Jocel Carag Doctolero, 33, and Jerry Carag Doctolero, 44 both residents of Barangay Balong, Tabuk City, Kalinga for Violation of RA 10591 issued on September 17, 2020 by presiding Judge Hon Jerson E Angog of RTC , Branch 25, 2nd Judicial Region, Tabuk City, Kalinga.
Said report states that at about 7:30 AM to 7:50 AM on September 18, 2020 the joint forces from Criminal Investigation and Detection Group (CIDG) Provincial Field Unit-Kalinga/Apayao, 14th Special Action Batallion-141st and 142nd Special Action Company SAF, Provincial Intelligence Unit of Kalinga PPO, Tabuk city police, Regional Intelligence Unit-14, 1st Kalinga Provincial Force Mobile Company, RMFB15 1503rd Maneuver Company, Regional Intelligence Division-PROCOR and Provincial Highway Patrol Team- Kalinga, under the direct supervision of PCOL Davy Vincent Limmong served the warrant against the two.
The suspects are allegedly involved in land grabbing and gun running. They are now under the custody of the CIDG Office, Kalinga PPO for documentation and proper disposition while cases for violation of RA 10591 (Comprehensive Law on Firearms and Ammunition Act) are being prepared for filing against them.//TL
