LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands recently turned over the third toilet block with handwashing facility and water catchment tank to school officials of the Lubas Elementary School during simple rites held at the school compound.
The aforesaid initiative is a Global Grant Project of the Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands, District 3790 in the Philippines and the Rotary Club of Shinyangsan, District 3721 in South Korea.
Earlier, the civic organization turned over similar facilities to the Puguis Elementary School and the La Trinidad Central School to help in ensuring the readiness of the public schools in complying with the basic health and safety protocols once face to face classes will be allowed to resume.
Those in attendance during the simple turnover ceremony were Delarosa Delmas, district supervisor representing Benguet Schools Division Superintendent Gloria Buya-ao, Mark Binay-an, school principal of the Lubas Elementary School, Jerome Tulic, school principal of the Ambiong elementary School, a future recipient of the Global Grant and the president of the Parents-Teachers Association (PTA).
On the other hand, officers of the Rotary Club of Baguio Highlands who were present during the aforesaid activity were Engr. Melchor S. Licoben – president, Tom Panis – charter president, Anna Liza Chan – president-elect, Rollin Laconsay – service project director, Fe Oyson – past president, Linda Ambucay – treasurer and Richard Valdez – public image director.
