BAGUIO CITY – Police operatives are in hot pursuit against an identified gunman who shot and killed a retired official of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in the morning of December 9, 2019 along Marcos Highway.
Police Col. Allen Rae F. Co, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the fatality as Samuel Lopez Mora, 58, married, a retired PDEA agent and a native of Zambales but is presently residing at Cuanso Road, Sto. Nono, Bakakeng Central, Baguio City.
In an initial police report, the shooting incident happened at around 7:20 AM of the said date in front of Hercules Bar, KM 4, Marcos Highway. The victim was on board his Toyota Hilux Pick-up bearing Plate No. CAH 6762 when shot several times by the unidentified gunman on board a motorcycle.
A boy who was reported to had witnessed the incident was in shock as he was near the gunman when the shooting started.
Pursuing police operatives recovered an abandoned helmet and a motorcycle along Suello Village and that the same is believed to be the get away vehicle of the suspect who is believed to be in the city as of writing of this story.
