BAGUIO CITY — The Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE) Committee of the City government of Baguio awarded two employees for the exceptional service that they have rendered.
The On-The-Spot (OTS) Award, a newly introduced incentives program, was given to Lalaine Soriano and Cherrylyn Congowan, both revenue collection clerks II at the Real Property Tax Division of the City Treasury Office during the flag-raising ceremony last July 2.
Coun. Joel Alangsab, member of the PRAISE committee, said the award was given based on the letter from a client commending Soriano and Congowan for their service and describing the two as “highly efficient”.
“I would like to thank you and your team for the exceptional service rendered to me today by (Ms. Soriano and Congowan). They make Baguio such a wonderful City. I travelled hours to get here and was met by happy smiles and kindness. Highly Efficient (staff),” client Diana Luna said in a handwritten note to local treasury operation officer IV Rowena Gaviola received through the Public Assistance and Complaints Desk on Feb. 23.
City Human Resource Management Officer Augustin Laban III endorsed the commendation to the PRAISE committee.
Alangsab said the OTS will be institutionalized as a regular award program of the City to acknowledge employees who have demonstrated courtesy, honesty, promptness and efficiency and their daily efforts such as reporting for duty on time, using government office hours diligently, and retiring from work only after office hours.
The selection of awardees will be based on the letters of commendation or appreciation from the clients, private companies or public institutions citing the employee that they have directly transacted business with and the latter’s demonstration of exemplary behavior.
The letters must come from the PACD-Suggestion box located in the city hall lobby or addressed to the City Mayor/City Vice Mayor or Department/Office Heads.
The City PRAISE Committee will conduct modes of verifying and validating the authenticity and truthfulness of the commendation/appreciation letters.
The OTS Award may be given to all career and non-career employees of the City Government of Baguio except for the department heads, assistant department heads, and elective officials regardless of age, sex, sexual orientation and gender identity, civil status, disability, religion, ethnicity, political and indigenous people affiliation.
The award in forms of certificates/plaques of recognition and/or gift certificates will be given through formal or informal mode and/or during fitting ceremonies like flag raising ceremonies. –
