PNP-A remains undefeated in quarters

LINGAYEN, Pangasinan-The A team of the Philippine National Police (PNP) remained undefeated in the quarterfinal rounds of the 1st Pangasinan Inter-Agency Basketball Tournament, a sports activity launched by Gov. Amado “Pogi” I. Espino III.

As of October 14, PNP-A posted a 5-0 (win-loss) standing after it subdued the Judiciary by seven, 80-73.

On the other hand, PNP-B is just tailing it comrades with four wins and one loss (4-1), its only loss being dealt by PNP-A in the first day of the quarterfinal play-offs.

It can be recalled that the inter-agency basketball match, conceptualized by the present administration after the successful debuts of the Inter-Town/City Basketball Games and 1st Gov. Espino Inter-LGU Unity Games, aims primarily to provide a venue for different government agencies to unwind via friendly sports competition.

Earlier, Sports Director Modesto Operania noted that Espino is keen on promoting sports among Pangasinenses in all ages not just to improve sporting skills but also to provide opportunity for players to visit different towns/cities in the province if games are held outside Lingayen town.

The following are the next scheduled games for the inter-agency quarterfinals to be held at Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center (NRSCC) gymnasium: October 20 (Friday), Game 1 (4PM)- PANELCO vs Judiciary; Game 2 (6PM)- DepEd-Pang. 1 vs DPWH. October 21 (Saturday), Game 1 (9AM)- Judiciary vs BFP; Game 2 (10:30AM)- DPWH vs PANELCO; Game 3 (1PM)- DepEd-Pang. 1 vs PNP-B; Game 4 (2:30PM)- CENPELCO vs PNP-A. October 27 (Friday), Game 1 (4PM)- DPWH vs PNP-B; Game 2 (6PM)- PNP-A vs DepEd-Pang. 1.

The semifinal games will be held on October 28 and November 3 while matches for the finals will be conducted on November 4, 10 and 17.
