BUGUIAS, Benguet – A 28-year old pastor died after a van collided with his motorcycle at Pilando, Lengaoan, here, Friday.
Police authorities identified the victim as Melencio Salming Tamino, 28, single, pastor and a native of Ansagan, Tuba, Benguet while the suspect was named as Jerry Alindan Guslab, 43, married and a resident of Bangao, Buguias, Benguet.
Initial police investigation showed that the van driven by the suspect tried to overtake another vehicle when it collided head on with the motorcycle driven by the victim which came from the opposite direction of the road.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Northern Benguet District Hospital for medical treatment but he later expired while undergoing close medical supervision while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and that the van was also impounded in the local police station.
