BAGUIO CITY – A 26-year old Nagierian national was arrested after he allegedly chocked a taxi driver when the latter brought him in a police station when he refused to pay his taxi fare along Kisad Road here Suday morning.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, officer-in-charge of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the arrested foreigner as Mohammed Mohamen Ahmed, 26, born on January 01, 1989, single, student, Nigerian National and residing at Easter Hill Subd., Lower Pinget, Baguio City, while he named the victim as Jay Razonable Mateo, 39, married, taxi driver, Native of Davao and residing at No.63 Nagullian Road, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect and his companions registered on an on-line taxi service and requested that they be brought to a hotel along Kisad Road but upon reaching their place of destination, the foreign national refused to pay their metered taxi fare.
The victim then decided to seek police assistance at BCPO Station No. 5, thus, he drove the suspect until they reached the police station where the suspect immediately choked him.
Police Operatives who saw the incident immediately arrested the suspect and is now detained at the Baguio City Jail awaiting the filing of appropriate charges against him.
