Dacanay, Jr, as key lecturer.
The webinar was part of a series of activities organized by NEDA-CAR to update the BLISTT Action Agenda 2017-2019. The BLISTT Action Agenda identifies the interlocal cooperation’s priority programs and projects. The document is being updated to consider major events and developments, including the Corona Virus Disease 2019 pandemic.
Assistant Regional Director Stephanie F. Christiansen of NEDA-CAR, in her opening message, encouraged the participants to transform their learnings to a planning perspective that transcends political boundaries that they may identify programs and projects that will achieve the objectives of inter-local cooperation.
Dacanay shared his expertise and experiences on inter-local planning for Metro Cagayan de Oro (CDO), and related the commendable practices in Metro CDO that the BLISTT local governments units (LGUs) may adopt to facilitate its inclusive growth. Engr. Dacanay emphasized the need for spatial analysis in the BLISTT Action Agenda, where the specific roles of the different BLISTT LGUs towards the achievement of the BLISTT vision are clearly defined. He added that a well-defined BLISTT spatial framework will guide collaborative efforts and improve buy-in of the partner LGUs and stakeholders in advancing the BLISTT.
NEDA-CAR serves as technical secretariat for BLISTT and will continue its support for the crafting of the updated BLISTT Action Agenda 2022-2028 and its implementation. By Bob Lyndon B. Daroya
