TABUK CITY, Kalinga – Members of the YTabuk Agri-Growers Association from Barangay Laya West recently received cash assistance from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) amounting to PhP 597,475.00 on September 21.
According to DOLE Provincial Director Avelina Manganip, the cash assistance for the association’s mushroom production.
She said that the cash assistance would be used to purchase materials and equipment needed for their mushroom production and processing.
“When they submitted their proposal, kasla naayatan kami because it’s more on processing, more on skill development para kadagijay members,” she said.
“Nu anya iti naisurat da iti proposal da, nu anya dyay specifications, anya dagijay materials ken equipment a nai-request da, isu iti ma-purchase, isu ma-procure. Nu completion tu dijay, we will be witnessing the turn-over together with the mayors and congressman tapnu mai-award dagijay equipment a na-purchase,” she said.
Manganip said that for those interested to avail same assistance from DOLE, they should organize themselves first with a complete set of officers.
They should then choose what kind of livelihood project they want to start “ta nu inya man nagnunumwan da, mabalin nga agsubmit da iti project proposal dituy opisina tayu (DOLE),” Manganip said.
After submitting their project proposal, personnel from DOLE would then evaluate their proposals and if found satisfactory, the DOLE would require the organization to submit their supporting documents so that DOLE-Kalinga would submit it to DOLE-CAR for their approval.
Manganip underscored that they cannot endorse project proposals from organizations if they have not been registered under DOLE.
