TANUDA, Kalinga – A 16-year-old male died while 12 other individuals were injured after the passenger jeep they were onboard fell into a five-meter deep ravine along the Tanudan – Banaue national road in Maraggob, Dupligan here recently.
Police disclosed that the ill-fated passenger jeepney came from Tabuk City, Kalinga and was heading to Sitio Bawak, Barangay Panhol, Tanudan, Kalinga when the accident happened. Based on the initial investigation, the jeep was climbing up the steep area of Maraggob, Dupligan. The jeep suffered loose brake and descend backwards until it fell into the ravine.
The fatality was identified as Jandy Bulawit Gallamoy, 16, and a resident of Barangay Dupligan, Tanudan. The other passengers who suffered from various injuries and were rushed to the Kalinga Provincial Hospital (KPH) and Almora Hospital are Luz Go-uban Bakasi, 35 years old resident of Sitio Bawak, Barangay Dupligan, Shanica Calubat Carbonel, 9, resident of Dupligan, Emalyn Victory Batang-ay, 18,resident of Barangay Pangol, Geraldine Calubat Carbonel, 36, resident Barangay Pangol, Shania Keith Calubat Carbonel, 9, resident of Barangay pangol, Mariel Reyes Samoy, 21, resident of Barangay Pangol, and Marquin hill Kibang, 3, resident of Barangay Pangol.
Also injured are Meah Fe Manggat y Songday, 18, resident of Sitio Bawak, Barangat Pangol, Anacita Dalili Ang-Ang, 77, resident of Barangay Dupligan, Claudine Sanad Gallamoy, 21, resident Barangay Dupligan, Shyleen Kyrie Calubat Carbonel, 4, resident of Barangay Dupligan and Frank De-eg Magalim, 15, resident of Barangay. Pangol.
