BAGUIO CITY – A 26-year old private miner died after he allegedly committed suicide by inflicting stab wounds on the different parts of his body inside the comfort room of a restaurant along Lapu-lapu St., Kagitingan, here, Sunday.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the alleged suicide victim as Hermes Acquian Imbentan, 26, married, private miner, and a resident of Balsigan, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed that personnel of the restaurant were surprised why the person who entered the cubicle of the comfort room was not coming out despite staying in the area for quite some time that prompted one of them to voluntarily climb the cubicle to be able to open the door on the other side.
While inside the cubicle, he was surprised to see the lifeless body of the victim with blood oozing from the different parts of his body that prompted them to call for police assistance.
The victim allegedly sustained a deep wound on his wrist, a stab wound on his stomach and another stab wound on his lower neck.
Policemen recovered from the crime scene a kitchen knife believed to have been used by the victim in the commission of the alleged suicide incident.
BCPO personnel engaged the victim’s family and relatives who allegedly manifested that they are no longer willing to subject his body to autopsy because they are reportedly convinced that no one was behind the incident.
Probers also saw from the victim’s mobile phone several personal messages and an unsent message stating that ‘sorry, I cannot handle it.’
