Miner arrested for illegal drugs in Itogon

ITOGON, Benguet – A 37-year old miner was arrested by combined police operatives and narcotics agents after having found in his possession suspected illegal drugs and assorted illegal drug paraphernalia during a drug buy bust operation at Balatoc, Virac, here, Wednesday morning.

Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested individual as Bert Bayagen Cawalo a.k.a Robert, 37, married, miner and a resident of Balatoc, Virac, Itogon, Benguet.

Confiscated from him were one piece heat sealed plastic sachet containing white crystalline substance approximately weighing more or less 2.5 grams; seven heat sealed plastic sachets containing with white crystalline substance approximately weighing 0.2 grams each sachet, all contains suspected shabu; four pieces emptied sachets; one improvised glass totter; one improvised heater; four Improvised totter straws two long two short; two lighters; two Scissors; one black Nokia cellphone; and three pieces One Thousand Peso bills with serial numbers LJ331231, PF660981 and JF958337.

The arrested drug suspect and the confiscated pieces of evidence were subsequently brought to the Itogon Municipal Police Station for documentation prior to the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
