FLORA, Apayao – A 42-year old man was injured after he was hacked by a drinking partner in a house at Sta. Ana, Baluyan, here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Joel Barbero Suelo, 42 years old, married, farmer while the suspect was named as Norberto DeLa Cruz Sevillano, 44 years, farmer, married and both are presently residing at barangay Balluyan, Flora, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed that the victim and the suspect were left drinking inside the house of their companions when the latter drew his bolo and hacked the former several times hitting him on his check and left chest.
The suspect, who was subsequently arrested by responding police operatives, claimed that the victim boxed him several times that prompted him to get his bolo and retaliate by hacking him several times.
The victim was brought to a local hospital while the suspect is now detained at the Flora Municipal Police Station for the filing of appropriate charges against him.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the concerned police operatives.
