LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – The municipal government recently issued a new travel advisory to guide individuals interested in visiting the municipality or for various purposes following the release by the inter-agency task force for the management of emerging infectious diseases on the downgrading of the community quarantine status of the National Capital Region (NCR) bubble plus.

For visitors wanting to visit the opened tourist destinations, Mayor Romeo K. Salda stated that individuals must first register atStaySafe.ph to generate their individual quick response (QR) code which will be checked in the borders and the sites they intend to visit.

However, individuals coming from areas that had been declared under enhanced community quarantine (ECQ), general community quarantine (GCQ) and modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) will not be allowed entry at the moment.

For individuals coming from Baguio City, Salda claimed they will be allowed entry in the municipality but their travel to the locality must be for essential purposes.

On the other hand, the local chief executive advised returning residents and returning Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) to register at latrinidad.gov.ph and then undergo the required triage at the province’s central triage center in Wangal.

For authorized persons outside residences, he stipulated that concerned individuals must present their valid identification cards, travel order or proof of appointment for them to be allowed entry in the municipality.

According to him the aforesaid advisory can be amended anytime depending on developments in the conditions caused by the ongoing implementation of the various levels of community quarantine to contain the spread of the deadly virus following the recent surge in the number of cases in the different parts of the country.

Mayor Salda called on residents and visitors to bear with the possible inconveniences that may be caused by the strict implementation of the new travel advisory in the municipality as it is geared towards helping the government contain the spread of the deadly virus in the municipality.

He admitted that there was also an increase in the number of COVID cases in the municipality over the past several days that coincided with the surge in the number of cases in various parts of the country that is why the implementation of the new travel restrictions in the municipality was adopted by the municipal inter-agency task force for the management of emerging infectious diseases.

Salda urged the public to understand the primary purpose in the enforcement of the new travel advisory because what is being prioritized by the task force is the health and safety of the residents and visitors alike, thus, the need for them to adhere to the varying regulations that have to be changed from time to time to suit the conditions dictated by the number of COVID cases in the municipality.

He asserted that the municipal government continues to be on guard on the latest developments that may transpire in the coming days so that appropriate adjustments could be done with the implementation of the new travel advisory for people wanting to enter the town.
