Lepanto National High School was able to collect P34,700.00 for the assessment of the Learners with Special Needs (LSENs) this school year 2020-2021.
The school’s post through the LHS-LNHS online alumni bulletin touched the heart of the generous alumni to shoulder expenses for the said assessment.
The modular distance learning drove teachers and school staff to prioritize assessments of learners to appropriately identify interventions suited for every LSENs. Most of these students return modules unanswered and were visited by teachers. Observations show that these students hardly understand instructions because they have difficulty in reading. Some are also selective in answering modules.
The school was able to identify 24 LSENs where ten (10) learners will be assessed first by the Philippine Mental Health Association this April 19, 2021 while the remaining 11 will be scheduled later.
DepEd Order 53, 2008 provides instructional support to LSENs through which LNHS implements the inclusive education. The inclusion embraces all children with disabilities, regardless of the nature and severity of their disability and need for related services receive their total education within the regular education classroom.
The said amount was handed to Ma’am Clares B. Guminigin, the Adopt a School Program Coordinator, to partially support the school’s move to let the identified Learners be assessed. By Sharon B. Angupa
