BAGUIO CITY – A 27-year old man was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents upon complaint of two illegal recruitment victims during an entrapment operation inside the SM City Baguio, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the arrested suspected large-scale illegal recruiter as Nelson Magpantay Castillo Jr., 27, single, resident of Makati Executive Tower, Makati City.
Initial police investigation showed the suspect reportedly recruited Ms. Anserma S. Alsem of No. 19 Maya St. Dizon Sub. Baguio City; Venerando DC Ocampo; and Ruby F. Ocampo of No. JA 095 Km.3, La Trinidad, Benguet and reportedly promised them descent work in Korea.
However, the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA) issued a certification that the suspect is not authorized to conduct recruitment activities that prompted the law enforcers to pursue the conduct of the entrapment operation.
The arrested individual was brought to the BCPO headquarters for documentation prior to the filing of the appropriate charges against him.
