BAGUIO CITY June 27 – A 24-year old laborer was injured after he was stabbed by his fellow labourer during an altercation outside a night spot along Dagohoy Street, here, Saturday.
Senior Superintendent Ramil L. Saculles, City Director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Romie Embong Tipal, 24, single, laborer, and a resident of Latbang Kayapa, Nueva Vizcaya while he named the arrested suspect as Richard Enriquez De Guzman, 24, single, laborer, and a resident of Bayan Park, Aurora Hill, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his companions were having a drinking spree inside a night spot when the suspect suddenly arrived and got irked about a scenario which he did not like.
When the victim went out of the establishment to try to talk things over with the suspect, it resulted to a commotion that prompted their companions to pacify them, however, the suspect pulled out a knife and stabbed the former thrice on the left and right sides of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for medical treatment while the suspect was arrested by responding police operatives and confiscated from his possession were the weapon used.
The suspect was ordered detained at the Baguio city jail waiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the city prosecutor’s office.
