Jobless man hurt in Apayao shooting incident

LUNA, Apayao  – A 30-year old jobless man was hurt after he was shot by still unidentified motorcycle riding in tandem gunmen while on his way home at San Isidro Sur here Thursday night.

Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the wounded individual as Ronnie Cabalang Telan, 30, married, unemployed, and a resident of barangay Simayung, Abulug, Cagayan.

Initial police investigation showed the victim was driving his motorcycle on his way home after visiting his aunt when motorcycle riding in tandem gunmen suddenly appeared from nowhere and fired at him several times hitting him in the different parts of his body.

The victim was immediately rushed to the Far North General Hospital and Training Center for medical treatment while the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation.

Responding police operatives and elements of the scene of the crime operation team recovered from the crime scene three spent shells of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspects in the perpetration of the crime.
