Jobless man hurt in Abra stabbing incident

TAYUM, Abra September 04 – A 29-year old jobless man was injured after he was stabbed by a young suspect while attending a wake at Patucannay, here, Monday dawn.

Police authorities identified the victim as John Mark Uli Sibayan, 29, single, unemployed, and a resident of barangay Laba, Tineg, Abra while the suspect was named as a certain John Michael Agustin, 19, single, unemployed, and a resident of barangay Patucannay, Tayum, Abra.

Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect attended a wake in the place of incident when a heated altercation erupted between them

The suspect allegedly stabbed the victim using a broken bottle that caused the latter to sustain stab wounds.

The suspect voluntarily surrendered to responding police operatives while the victim was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment

The case was amicably settled between the involved parties.
