BANGUED, Abra – A 24-year old jobless man was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents after having in his possession suspected shabu during an anti-illegal drug operation at McKinley St., Zone 5, here Friday night.
Senior Superintendent Antonio Bartolome, provincial director of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested drug courier as Bong Palangdao Gayban, 24, single, jobless, and a resident of Lingtan, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the police personnel doing routine patrol spotted three suspicious-looking individuals standing on the side of their motorcycles in a dark area near the covered court in the area when two of them suddenly fled using their motorcycles towards an undisclosed direction.
The police immediately collared the victim and conducted body search that resulted to the confiscation of one heat sealed sachet containing alleged shabu with a still undetermined volume.
The arrested individual was immediately brought to the Bangued Municipal Police Station awaiting the filing of charges of violation of the provisions of Republic Act (RA) 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Law against him before the Abra provincial prosecutor’s office.
