Illegal drug operations yield arrest of 5 suspects, seizure of 4.4M marijuana

CAMP MAJOR BADO DANGWA, La Trinidad Benguet – Five suspected drug personalities were dragged in jail while P4.4 milion worth of marijuana was seized after successful anti-illegal drugs operations were separately conducted by joint police personnel of PROCOR and drug enforcement agency.

Suspected two marijuana transporters on board an Ace Finder Bus bound for Tabuk City, Kalinga were arrested in a checkpoint at Purok 6, Bulanao, Tabuk City, Kalinga in the afternoon of January 13, 2020 after they were reported carrying illegal contraband.

Arrested suspects, Jose San Juan Raymundo Jr, 20, and resident of Brgy South Triangle, Quezon City and Kian Ty Cortez, 22, and a resident of Kamuning, Quezon City, tried to evade the alerted joint elements of Police Intelligence Branch/Drug Enforcement Unit (PIB/DEU), Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency – Kalinga (PDEA Kalinga), Regional Intelligence Division (RID), PRO-Cor Intelligence Unit (IU-14), Tabuk CPS and First Kalinga Police Mobile Force Company (1st KPMFC), however they were waylaid and arrested.



Their arrest resulted in the confiscation of nine (9) transparent plastic, in tubular form, containing dried MJ leaves; and 28 bricks dried MJ leaves weighing 37 kgs worth Php 4,440,000.00 placed inside three separate traveling bags.

Moreover, two persons were arrested in separate buy-bust operations after they sold suspected shabu to operatives who posed as poseur buyer.

Police apprehended suspects Jan Jason Frondoso Galigo, in the evening of January 13, 2020 at KM3, La Trinidad, Benguet and Eimreg T. Jimenez in the afternoon of January 14, 2020, on Gibraltar Road, Pacdal, Baguio City. Evidence seized from Galigo were one plastic sachet containing suspected shabu worth Php 26, 520.00; Php1,000.00 cash money; Php19,000.00 boodle money and one cellphone whereas Php 1,500 buy-bust money, two (2) sachets of suspected shabu and a cellphone were seized from Jimenez.

Meanwhile, a 16 year old minor student who is a resident of Urbano St., Baguio City, was taken into custody after a cellophane containing marijuana leaves and stalks was discovered in his possession in the night of January 13, 2020 on Interior Labsan St., Baguio City.

PROCOR Regional Director PBGEN Israel Ephraim T Dickson commended the operating units for another notable accomplishments in the campaign against illegal drugs. “We need the continues, active and strong cooperation of our community to rid our region from illegal drugs by reporting all entities involved in illegal activities” PBGEN Dickson said.
