“We need each other. We need visiting teachers who are sincerely interested in those they visit and realize the importance of their calling as they strive to reach the one”. – quotemaster.org. In this time of pandemic, everybody work hand in hand to continue education that no one left behind. Students cannot go to school due to General Community Quarantine (GCQ), therefore alternative distance learning comes in through online, video, and modular. However, teachers want to conduct home visitation on how learners are going along with their studies. They want to bring or provide information to parents or guardians to make a positive environment for the children.

Home visitation in the field of education is to bridge the gap between school and home. It is also one way to deepen partnership or collaboration and helps strong communication for parents, teachers and learners. Teachers conduct researches on family background, preparing strategic plan, how teachers are flexible, focusing on strength, and they create an action plan and reports.

The main challenges during this pandemic, students have encountered are self-studying, poor internet connection, lack of sleep, so many activities in the module and different destructions at home such as TV, gadgets, and smart phone. Besides parents are also facing struggles during this pandemic. Helping children in their work, learners stress and fear, health problems, behavior problems, no jobs and working parents. With this problems teachers as a second parents conduct home visitation so that at least adjustments made.

When teachers visit home, parents are motivated to be involve in the studies of their children. Teachers show concern for the children’s well-being. They offer an outlook on each individual family’s struggle, what they find to be the most difficult challenges in their life.  By CARIDA A. ROSAL
