BAGUIO CITY – HeraldExpress bagged two prestigious awards given by the Philippine Press Institute (PPI) during the virtual awarding ceremony of the 2019 PPI Civic Journalism Awards.
HeraldExpress was adjudged as the publication with the Best Environmental Reporting and the Best Business and Economic Reporting weekly category for the virtual edition of the 2019 PPI Civic Journalism Awards that was live streamed on the PPI facebook page and other social media platforms.
The annual PPI Civic Journalism Awards is spearheaded by the PPI, the association of national and local newspapers operating in the country, and its partners Nickel Asia Corporation (NAC) and Hanns Seidel Foundation.
Since its inception in 2014, HeraldExpress was able to be adjudged as the Best Edited Community Newspaper during the 2018 PPI Civic Journalism Awards held last July 4-5, 2019 at the Hotel Jen in Pasay City.
