BAGUIO CITY – Councilor Edgar Avila recently entered into a memorandum of agreement (MOA) with Irisan Barangay and Elpidio Quirino Elementary School for the donation of two classrooms from Citic Real Estate Corporation (CREC) headed by Chi Jian Li and the Federation of Filipino Chinese Chamber of Commerce and Industry (FCCCI) chaired by Domingo Yap.
Mayor Mauricio Domogan witnessed the signing at City Hall.
The MOA states that thru his initiative, Avila solicited funding for the construction of the two classrooms with finished structure including painting and comfort room, from the CREC and FCCCI in the amount of P400,000.
It authorizes the councilor, who chairs the city council’s committee on urban planning lands and housing, to execute and implement the project under terms and conditions acceptable to him and the recipients.
The MOA directs Irisan Barangay thru punong barangay Thomas Dumalti and Elpidio Quirino Elembentary School thru Principal Rosie Beel Marzo to provide an area for the classrooms to be approved by the councilor.
Both should also provide the designated contractor a reasonable supply of sand and gravel as their minimum counterpart for the project including a billboard or tarpaulin.
Avila has identified and recommended to the donors other schools needing an additional two classrooms each including Adiwang Elementary School in Sto. Tomas barangay; Magsaysay Elementary School, New Lucban barangay; Baguio Central School, MRR-Queen of Peace barangay; Quirino Hill Elementary School, East Quirino Hill barangay and Gibraltar Elementary School in Gibraltar barangay.
