SALLAPADAN, Abra – A 60-yyear old farmer was injured after he was repeatedly hacked by a fellow farmer at Ud-udiao here, Sunday.
Superintendent Mark Pespes, officer-in-charge of the Abra Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Jovencio Babganan Bagni, 60, single, farmer while he named the suspect as Fernando Mino, of legal age, single, farmer and both residents of Ud-udiao, Sallapadan, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with some friend, had a drinking session but the victim decided to leave them for him to go to the barangay hall and sleep.
At this juncture, the victim was awakened when he felt that he was hit by a hard object. The victim shouted for help while the suspect started hitting him several times with a hard object inflicting injuries on the different parts of his body.
He was rushed to the Abra Provincial Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation in order to ascertain the motive of the incident.
