FLORA, Apayao – A 40-year old farmer died after he was allegedly shot to death by still unidentified assailants while inside their residence at Malubibit Sur, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the fatality as Elvis Mabini Mabini, 40, married, farmer, and a resident of Malubibit Sur, Flora, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim went to his uncle’s house to watch television but he had a misunderstanding with his relative that prompted him to go home while his uncle left their house on board his tricycle.
Several hours later, some of their neighbors heard three gunshots that emanated from their house but they ignored the said incident.
However, when his father checked the status of his son, he saw him bloodied prompting him to rush his son to the district hospital but he was pronounced dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body.
The case is still subject to further investigation by the responding police operatives to ascertain the motive of the killing and the identity of the suspect.
