TABUK CITY, Kalinga – In their continuous effort to promote and uphold consumer welfare amidst the restrictions brought about by the Novel Corona Virus Disease (COVID-19) pandemic, the Department of Trade and Industry Regional office will be holding a simultaneous Region-wide 2020 Consumer Welfare Month (CWM) observation tomorrow, October 7 via Zoom.
As gathered from DTI -Kalinga, the event in the province will also highlight the recognition of partners and Kapihan Press Conference on October 7 at the Davidson Hotel.
The celebration anchored in this year’s theme “Sustainable Consumer in the New Normal,” aims to show the resiliency of Filipino consumers during this time of crisis and show how consumer protection is ensured in establishments.
Said event will also serve as medium to broaden the public’s awareness on responsible consumerism during this pandemic.
As part of the event local government units are enjoined to post a streamer or tarpaulin in their offices to show support to the agency’s CWM Awareness Campaign, and make the public aware of the event.
Moreover, DTI will also a region wide press conference via Zoom account and Facebook live in October 07 at Davidson Hotel, Bulanao.
In said web conference, DTI Secretary Ramon Lopez, Atty. Ruth Castelo the Undersecretary for Consumer Protection Group, Baguio City Mayor Benjamin Magalong and DTI CAR Director Myrna Pablo are expected to deliver their virtual messages.
