BANGUED, Abra June 23 – A 39-year old drug surrenderer died after he was repeatedly shot by motorcycle-riding in tandem armed suspects along Partelo St., Zone 4, here, Thursday morning.
Police authorities identified the fatality as Jeffrey Bisares Nuñez, 39, married, and a resident of Partelo Street, Zone 4, Bangued, Abra.
Initial police investigation showed the victim came from a court hearing and was standing on the side of the road when two motorcycle-riding armed men suddenly arrived in the area.
After a few moments, the backrider suddenly alighted from the motorcycle, pulled out a short firearm and shot the victim several times before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was immediately rushed to the Seares Memorial Hospital for medical treatment but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians due to multiple gunshot wounds on the different parts of his body while the suspects are now the subject of a manhunt operation.
Responding police operatives and elements of the Scene of the Crime Operation (SOCO) team recovered from the crime scene five spent shells, a deformed slug and a jacket of a calibre .45 pistol which was used by the suspect in the perpetration of the crime.
