LA TRINIDAD, Benguet – A 30-year old driver was arrested by combined police operatives and intelligence agents after he collected the payment of the electric bill of a consumer even if he was already terminanted as an employee of the Benguet Electric Cooperative (BENECO) during an entrapment operation at Buyagan, Poblacion, here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent Florante Camuyot, officer-in-charge of the Benguet Provincial Police Office, identified the arrested individual as Archie Oloan Tauli, 30, married, self-employed (jitney driver) residing at Central Guisad, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed that the suspect had been receiving the payment of electric bills of the complainant since last year but he was recently terminated from the service and continued to do so until such time that they newly assigned meter reader informed the complainant that something was wrong with their connections that prompted her to locate the suspect.
The arrested individual was brought to the La Trinidad Municipal Police Station for documentation awaiting the filing of the appropriate charges against him before the provincial prosecutor’s office.
