DOST-CAR, BSU forge MOA for Technical Services Partnership in Benguet

The DOST-CAR Regional Director Nancy A. Bantog, represented by Engr. Angel L. Maguen, Assistant Regional Director – Field Operation Services, and DOST-Benguet Provincial Director Sheila Marie Singa-Claver signed a Memorandum of Agreement with Benguet State University President Felipe Comila for a partnership on provision of technical services in the province of Benguet, today, June 2, 2022 at the BSU- Office of the President.

BSU will provide technical experts on training programs based on the needs of the target beneficiaries of DOST-Benguet. Also, the university may provide consultancy services to science and technology and other related disciplines that the University offers.

Dr. Singa-Claver shared that the partnership between DOST-Benguet and BSU already started before, through tapping its technical experts on some trainings and fora being implemented in the province. With this MOA, DOST and BSU will  share counterparts on the trainings to be implemented. “Together, we can do more” she added. 

As the college-partner which initiated the partnership, Dr. Janet Pablo, Dean of the College of Agriculture, also shared the programs and services of the Department of Agriculture which DOST-Benguet may avail.

In his message, President Comila expressed his joy to see such initiative. Through this partnership, research outputs and knowledge from the  academe, DOST and other  science related discipline will be transferred and maximized for the benefit of the people in the province.
