BAGUIO CITY – The Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG) has issued a warning against the unauthorized use of the DILG logo and seal for the purposes of solicitation, sponsorship, recruitment, production of materials, and obtaining other favors from local government units (LGUs) and even field offices of the Department.
“The DILG has not issued any authorization to use its name, logo, or address for illegal transactions of any private individuals and groups,” said OIC-RD Araceli San Jose of DILG today.
Adding, “the DILG is continuously receiving reports that various private individuals, organizations, or groups are either utilizing the DILG Seal and/or Logo without authority,” she said.
“It has come to our attention that a number of private individuals, organizations, or groups are charging their members, recruits and the public certain fees and are misrepresenting that they are accredited by the Department,” she noted.
OIC-RD San Jose advised the general public to immediately report to the authorities any encounter with such individuals or their bogus group and all other related incidents involving similar schemes. By Pamela Mariz T. Geminiano
