The newly-installed Assistant Regional Director of the Cordillera office of the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG-CAR) Ruperto B. Maribbay, Jr., on Monday, vowed to contribute in the realization of the Department’s vision, mission, and goals to better serve the Cordillerans during his installation ceremony here in this mountain resort city.
“I may not be able to bring what our practices in Region 2 are, but perhaps I can contribute and share what I have learned as a DILG personnel to better improve the quality of work that DILG Cordillera does, ensuring that we are fulfilling our mandates,” Maribbay, Jr. said, adding, ” With strong faith and support from DILG Cordillera and its personnel, I will be able to perform to the best of my abilities and contribute to the effective delivery of our programs and services to our kailyans.”
Maribbay also expressed gratitude to the DILG-CAR’s men and women for their assistance and expressed hopes for a fruitful and professional working relationship.
Meanwhile, DILG-CAR Regional Director Araceli San Jose thanked the Department for appointing Maribbay to the region, noting that his wealth of knowledge and skills as leader and manager, as well as his technical competencies, will undoubtedly benefit the region.
“I will give you the same amount of support I have received from my former Regional Director. You are now an OJT-RD because I believe you will be appointed to a higher position someday, that is why we need to start preparing you for a higher and more responsibilities in our department,” she said.
San Jose underscored with the continued support of all city and provincial directors, division chiefs, and DILG-CAR personnel, the region will be able to promote good and participatory governance and improve its performance in the delivery of public service.
In his keynote address, Undersecretary for Local Government Marlo Iringan emphasized the need for institutions and individuals to adapt in order to help the administration’s thrust for the betterment of the Filipino people.
“This is what we, as CESOs and DILG field officers, are built for. Our ability to adapt to the mandates of our department and to whatever endeavor we are involved in. I have no doubt that during ARD Maribbay’s stint with the DILG Cordillera, it will be a fruitful and fulfilling one, given his wealth of experience with DILG Region 2 combined with the DILG Cordillera, and he will make significant contributions to the realization of our goals and strategic direction,” Usec. Iringan said.
DILG-CAR and Region 2 key officials were also present during the installation of Maribbay.
