Cop wounded in Paracelis

PARACELIS, Mountain Province – A 34-year old policeman was hurt after his service firearm fell from his pocket and subsequently discharged inside the Paracelis Municipal Police Station here recently.

Superintendent Cornelio Comila, officer-in-charge of the Mountain Province Police Office, identified the victim as PO2 Gary Amawan Bonhaon, 34, resident in Bato, Alatbang, Mayoyao, Ifugao and a PNP member presently assigned in Mayoyao MPS, Mayoyao, Ifugao.

Initial police investigation showed the victim went to the Paracelis Municipal Police Station to check on the presence of the arrested wanted person and while he was walking in front of the PCR room, his firearm suddenly fell from his pocket and accidentally discharged after hitting the ground thereby inflicting injury on his palm.

He was rushed to the Paracelis District hospital for medical treatment but he was later transferred to the Potia District Hospital for further medication.
