CALANASAN, Aayao – A 41-year old construction worker died after he was stabbed by a 35-year electrician inside a bunkhouse at sitio Magnas, Eva, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Felix Dayag, officer-in-charge of the Apayao Provincial Police Office, identified the victim as Jessie Banniyag Agandong a.k.a. Idat, 41, married, construction worker while he named the suspect as Arthur Alonzo Balicat a.k.a. Katuk, 35, married, electrician, both residents of barangay Swan, Pudtol, Apayao.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and his co-workers were having a drinking session inside their bunkhouse when the suspect suddenly arrived in the area.
One of his companions asked the suspect why he was there and he reportedly responded by saying that he wants to apply as a construction worker.
When the victim went to urinate in a nearby area, he was followed by the suspect who reportedly stabbed him on his right armpit before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was immediately rushed to a local hospital but he was declared dead on arrival by attending physicians while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation by responding police operatives.
