BAGUIO CITY – A 24-year old construction worker was injured after he was stabbed by a fellow construction worker in front of an automobile supply shop along Abanao St., here, Thursday.
Senior Superintendent George D. Daskeo, acting city director of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO), identified the victim as Rodrigo Acuhido Dumam-ag, 24, single, construction worker, and a resident at Kayang St., Baguio City while he named the suspect as Rene Cadag, of legal age, and presently residing at Irisan Dumpsite, Baguio City.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect, together with some companions, had a drinking session in one of the establishments in the area when they decided to continue their session in the victim’s residence.
While on their way to the victim’s residence, a heated altercation between him and the suspect suddenly ensued that resulted into a fistfight that was subsequently pacified by their companions.
The suspect reportedly went out of the building but was followed by the suspect who continuously confronted him forcing the former to stab him several times on the different parts of his body.
The victim was rushed to the Baguio General Hospital and Medical Center (BGHMC) for treatment while the suspect was able to elude arrest, thus, the case will be subject to regular filing.
