Travel is both enlightening and challenging. In today’s world, travel safety and security are now more important than ever. It should be emphasized that no one can guarantee a traveler’s total safety. Many people depend on this transport mode, especially students and people from the middle to low economic strata.

Although public utility vehicles, like jeepneys and taxis, are often blamed as the main cause of traffic disturbance, their important role in providing mobility for riders cannot be ignored, but must be regulated. The suggestions described here include only the possible, practical, and the most suitable ones to meet the requirements of the parties involved.

The Cordillera Basic Sectors Transport Cooperative (CBSTC), in coordination with the ZhongTong Company, offers to provided a modernized transport vehicles which are not only comfortable during travels but, are also safe. This new public transportation provides a mobility service to the user, as well as producing a wide impact on the system.

Because of the problem of passengers just getting off moving vehicles, the vehicle the ZhongTong Company offers has bus doors that can only be opened and closed by the driver, while accommodating more people that there is no need to ride on top of the bus, unlike jeeps that often allow top-load passengers, compromising the safety of passengers.

To address some incidents that may happen inside public vehicles, like pickpocketing, robbery, inflicting bodily harm, and sexual harassment, CBSTC equips its vehicles with security cameras that can capture events inside the vehicle for the safety and protection of passengers and drivers.

The safety and security aspect in public transportation operation is very important, as public transportation involved human lives on a larger scale or in greater numbers as many passengers happen to be riding in one vehicle and the proposed improvement will act as a complement to the existing road safety action plans.
