TABUK CITY, Kalinga – With the strict execution of the National Building Code in the area, the City Building and Architecture Office (CBAO) collected P4, 502, 686.28 fees in 2021.
According to the CBAO, out of the total collection of P4, 502, 686.28, the amount of P2, 305, 776.48 was produced from building permits services, with 401 permits issued.
P1, 309, 070.80 was earned from the 2, 463 certificate of inspection that was issued, while P438, 560.00 was generated from the 164 certificate of occupancy that was issued.
The CBAO also received P435, 154.00 from 685 applicants seeking electrical licenses and 401 applicants seeking sanitary and architectural permits during their regular inspections.
The CBAO reported 28 violators for illegal building construction during their regular inspections, with four of them being endorsed for prosecution.
In addition, the agency has filed affidavits of desistance against two violators and has made 18 court appearances.
To avoid the penalties, CBAO officials are advising the public to obtain their permits at their office, emphasizing the necessity of obtaining building permits before beginning any development.
A construction permit assures that a structure meets all design specifications and is structurally safe and stable in the event of natural disasters such as earthquakes and typhoons, among other things.
