PARACELIS, Mountain Province – A 38-year old farmer was hurt after he was allegedly hacked by his older brother during the height of a heated altercation inside his house at sitio Pacac, Sacacang, barangay Bacarri, here, recently.
Senior Superintendent Cornelio Comila, officer-in-charge of the Mountain Province Police Office, identified the victim as Jaliver Puyoten Mabunot, 38, married, farmer while he named the suspect as Fernandez Puyoten Mabunot, the victim’s older brother, both residents of Pacac, Sacacang, Bacarri, Paracelis, Mountain Province.
Initial police investigation showed the victim and the suspect were having a drinking session inside the former’s house when the latter asked his younger brother why he was no longer going to church.
The victim reportedly told his older brother to leave him alone in settling his own problem which resulted to a heated altercation.
The suspect then went out of his brother’s house, proceeded to his residence nearby, got a bolo then went back to the victim’s residence and hacked him on his right hand before fleeing towards an undisclosed direction.
The victim was rushed to the Paracelis District Hospital for medical treatment while the suspect is now the subject of a manhunt operation for him to answer for the crime he committed.
