BAGUIO CITY – Boleroz ballhawked the Bloothers, 94-85, while ROC-B outlasted the Baguio Water district, 79-75, to propel themselves back in the race for the semis during games held last week for the YMCA Cup at the YMCA Gym, here.

Meanwhile, ROC-B’s intensity to win the game prevented the Baguio Water District from building a big lead after the first canto, 22-19. A slow paced game ensued in the second canto as both ball clubs had a hard time mustering points in the basket due to tight defense strategies. This situation, however, gave ROC-B an opportunity to get the lead, going on a 16-12 run courtesy of ROC’s Carlito Solis that gave them the lead 35-34 at the end of the first half.
The teams engaged in a neck-to-neck battle with ROC barely edging BWD, 22-21, to move up by two, 57-55. BWD’s Alvin Ora, Marck Regua, and Jayson Tan, commandeered their team while Eljay Vinluan, Carlito Solis, Donald Colanta and Earl Boado carried ROC.
