TABUK CITY, Kalinga– The City Cooperatives and Enterprise Development Office (CCEDO) recently visited micro, small, and large cooperatives throughout the city as part of the ‘Biyaheng Kooperatiba,’ a local tour of cooperatives in the city and an annual inspection program.
According to Project Development Officer Engr. Ryan Jose, the goal of this is to assess cooperatives’ compliance with the Cooperative Development Authority’s (CDA) criteria and reports, which are aimed at improving day-to-day operations.
Financial reports are among the documents being reviewed and assessed, he said.
Jose further stated that through this endeavor, the CCEDO will be able to determine what else needs to be prioritized in order to improve the implementation of the cooperatives’ many programs and services.
St. Thomas Credit Cooperative, BIBAK Multipurpose Cooperative, Treasure Link Cooperative Society, Holy Trinity Cathedral Multipurpose Cooperative (HTCMPC), Binongsay Malin-awa Savings and Loan Cooperative (BMSLC), PUR Credit Cooperative, and Challenger’s Agriculture Cooperative were among the cooperatives visited by the CCEDO today.
During their visit to the BMSLC, HTCMPC Manager Graciana Tombaga and Bulanao Multipurpose Cooperative Manager Helen Grace Torres agreed to accept the BMSLC as their mentee or small brother coop.
Accordingly, the CCEDO will compile their findings from the week-long on-site validation and propose interventions to address issues that concern the cooperatives.
